Get up close and personal at a wild animal refuge and relax on a narrated drive along one of America's most scenic highways as you learn the history of Seward. Enjoy a narrated drive through the historic downtown district and along Alaska's "Scenic Byway," the Seward Highway, past picturesque mountains and pristine wilderness. Visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center where orphaned and displaced animals are given refuge in spacious habitats. Here, you can observe and photograph some of Alaska's biggest land mammals, including moose, bison, bears and musk ox. You'll have 90 minutes at the non-profit center, including time for shopping at the gift shop. Here you may purchase locally made souvenirs, including clothing made of Qiviut, the fur from musk oxen. On the return journey to Seward soak up the sights, spot wildlife, and listen to the expert narration of your knowledgeable driver/guide.
