Enjoy a scenic drive along famous Highway 101 for free time in two noted Oregon coastal towns. Your first destination is the charming coastal village of Seaside. Once you disembark, you're on your own to stroll the boardwalk, buy salt water taffy, look for souvenirs or ride the carousel. After reboarding your bus you'll continue to Cannon Beach, named for a U.S. Navy cannon that washed ashore in 1846. After you arrive in Cannon Beach, you're free to explore its colorful courtyards and streets or shop for souvenirs and mementos. Or stroll to the beach and take a photo of Haystack Rock. Composed of basalt, this 235-foot tall rock formation is home to puffins, sea gulls and cormorants. At the end of your excursion, you'll return to Astoria along the same scenic route.
