Experience Troldhaugen where the spirit of internationally acclaimed composer Edvard Grieg lives on. Begin your excursion with a narrated drive through Bergen, the second largest city in Norway, to see the medieval city, including the 13th-century King Hakon's Hall, the 16th-century Rosenkrantz Tower, and Bryggen, a major trading center for the medieval Hanseatic League protected by UNESCO because of its historical significance. Located near Lake Nordås and surrounded by a superb park, Troldhaugen is considered a national shrine. This is where the composer lived with his wife Nina, where he composed many of his works and where he is buried. You will also visit the Fantoft Stavechurch, a replica of the old church that burned down in 1992, painstakingly reconstructed to reflect a style of construction that is unique to Norway.
