What you will visit:
Charlottetown Scenic Drive
Charlottetown more than makes up for its small size with its vibrancy and rich history. Province House was the site of the 1864 conference where Canada was founded, and nearby Confederation Centre showcases the best of Canadian visual and performing arts. Victoria Street is packed with boutiques and restaurants, and the six blocks of the Great George Street Historic District boast a variety of architectural gems.
Confederation Bridge
The Confederation Bridge links Prince Edward Island to mainland Canada and the province of New Brunswick. This amazing feat of engineering officially opened in 1997, and at an incredible eight miles long, it is the longest crossing over ice-covered water in the world. As you journey across the bridge, high above the strait below, notice that the bridge is curved to keep drivers alert while driving across.
Cape Jourimain
Explore the Cape Jourimain Nature Center located within a National Wildlife Area. It's the starting point of exhibit halls that showcase the flora and fauna of the area as well as nature trails, views of a 19th-century lighthouse, and a four-story observation tower for views of the Confederation Bridge.
