A trio of magnificent castles awaits your arrival on this full-day tour that takes you to the historic region of North Zealand and introduces you to the spectacular beauty of three royal residences, steeped in history and legend. Travel through the lush countryside to Frederiksborg Castle, a masterpiece of Dutch Renaissance architecture built in the early 17th century by Christian IV, now home to Denmark's National Portrait Gallery. Pause for lunch at an inn en route to Fredensborg Castle, one of the grandest castles in Scandinavia, known as the Danish Versailles. Next, enter the hallowed halls of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Kronborg Castle, immortalized by Shakespeare in Hamlet. A local guide presents Hamlet's castle on this unique tour with a look behind the scenes, where secret passageways and hidden rooms, where the public don't have access, are behind open for you. On your return, stop at the iconic Little Mermaid statue, the beloved mascot of the city, before returning to port.
