WHAT YOU VISIT
Royal Flying Doctor Service Facility
Founded in 1939 by the Reverend John Flynn, the RFDS has served a part of Australia's larger health system and considered an essential service. Touchscreen Portals allow you to learn about the history and the activities of the RFDS pilots, engineers, doctors and nurses. A decommissioned RFDS Pilatus PC 12 aircraft that allows visitors inside the aircraft and experience a fully aero medically equipped fit out.
Darwin Aviation Museum
Previously known as the Australian Aviation Heritage Centre, the museum is a must-see for aviation fans. Step inside and hear interesting stories about Darwin's wartime experience, including the role of female aviators. Among the impressive presentations, and rare colour footage of Darwin's first air-raid exhibits are a replica Spitfire, an Auster biplane, a Japanese Zero fighter, movie footage shot from the sky in 1942, a Tiger Moth, the remains of a crash-landed RAAF Mirage jet, and attack helicopters.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
You can't miss the B-52 bomber at the Darwin Aviation Museum. The American-made, long-range, subsonic, jet-powered strategic bomber is one of the last in the world and only one of three on display outside of the United States.
WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
Your three-and-a-half excursion begins with a drive past Kitchener Bay and over the Timor Sea to the Royal Flying Doctor Service Facility; then take in the city's highlights as you continue on to the Darwin Aviation Museum.

The tour includes general admission fee to both museums. It does not include admission to special exhibits in either museums.Wear warm-weather clothing and comfortable walking shoes. Bring a hat, sunglasses and adequate sun protection.
