The deep waters surrounding Dominica are a natural breeding ground for sperm whales and several species of dolphins. Witness these magnificent mammals in their natural habitat when you board a whale-watching cruise aboard a 65-foot catamaran. Travel to a prime viewing point approximately eight miles off shore along the west coast. Whales and dolphins are usually spotted on the surface or located with the use of an underwater hydrophone. Every 15 minutes or so, hydrophones are placed into the water to listen for the rhythmic click of sperm whales, pinging of pilot whales, whistling of dolphins or singing of humpbacks. The most commonly seen animals are sperm, pilot and false killer whales and spotted, spinner and bottlenose dolphins. As you search for marine mammals, your guide provides a running commentary on the marine life found off Dominica's coast. Your tour concludes with complimentary juice or rum punch served as you cruise back to the pier.
Special Notes:
Whales and dolphins are wild marine mammals. While every effort is made to locate them, actual sightings are not guaranteed. Once participants join their tour, they will be required to complete a liability waiver.Child Price:
