Discover the wonders of Cinque Terre, Italy's oldest and smallest national park. Stretching a mere 15 miles along the coast, this UNESCO World Heritage Site boasts a brilliant landscape of terraced vineyards, olive groves and rocky cliffs topped with houses bathed in a palette of soft pastels to vibrant colors. Your all-day guided tour begins with a scenic drive to Levanto. Here, you'll board a train bound for Monterosso, where you'll have free time to explore, shop and purchase lunch. Refreshed, you'll board a motorboat and cruise to Vernazza, officially called one of the 'most beautiful villages in Italy.' Your last stop of the day is Portovenere where your guide will lead you to the picturesque carrugio (the main street) and St. Peter Church, which sits atop a promontory overlooking the village and the sea. Photos taken, you'll return to the ship by motorcoach.
Special Notes:
.NOTE: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Most of the tour operates on foot. Steps and inclines must be negotiated at the villages. Lunch is not included. Bring local currency or credit cards for incidentals, food or drinks. In case of adverse sea conditions, the tour will be operated by train instead of motorboat.
