Top of the Diamond by Snowcat

Our Snæfellsjökull Top of the Diamond Snow-cat Tour is a spectacular and unique sightseeing excursion that brings our visitors close to one of Iceland's most spectacular and mystical glaciers, Snæfellsjökull. Snæfellsjökull rises 1446 meters above sea level. This glacier-topped volcano is where Jules Verne set a passage leading to the center of the Earth in his popular novel Journey to the Center of the Earth and it is believed to be one of the Earth's seven sources of spiritual energy. The tour starts with a bus drive from Grundarfjörður and through a mountain pass to reach the town of Arnarstapi where there'll be a comfort stop before changing to the vehicle that will take us to the foot of Snæfellsjökull glacier where we'll get on board our snowcat to start our journey to the top of the glacier. The ride up is slow, and we also try to make some stops on the way for everybody to enjoy the view and take pictures along the way. Once at the top, there is time to walk around before.
