Experience the thrill of fishing in the "Salmon Captial of the World" aboard a modern fishing boat with covered cabin and restroom. After a narrated transfer to Knudson Cove Marina, you'll board your boat, receive a safety briefing, then depart for the fishing grounds. You'll troll for salmon and test your sportfishing skills in the sheltered waters of Clover Passage for approximately 3 to 3.5 hours. Your catch can be processed locally and shipped to your home for an additional charge, or cooked on board for dinner - it's your choice. Transfer back to the ship with memories of a relaxing fishing trip. A snack will be served during the excursion and beverages are provided throughout the tour. Keep an eye out for eagles, whales, seals, sea lions or other wildlife.
Special Notes:
Minimum age is 5. Deck or rubber-soled shoes must be worn on the boat. Boats will carry a maximum of 6 guests. The Alaska Department of Fish & Game has put in place a conservation measure in southeast Alaska waters to protect the king salmon species. Any king caught up until June 14 must be released. Please remember you are purchasing the opportunity to catch fish, not a guarantee of doing so. Fish runs are dependent on spawning seasons, so during May and late-September fish stock may be more limited. All safety equipment and fishing gear is provided.Alaska State regulation requires those engaging in sportfishing to purchase and carry on their person a State of Alaska sport fishing license, which should be purchased in advance of your tour. One day non-resident licenses are $15 per person. A king salmon stamp ($15 per person) is required if you plan to target or retain this species. Children under the age of 16 are not required to purchase sportfishing licenses. Download the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADFG) mobile app or follow the below steps to acquire your license:

Trolling with downriggers is the method of fishing used on this excursion. Generally, the fishing rods are placed in holders and lines are lowered to specific depths. Participants do not hold the rods until fish are hooked. When a salmon strikes the fisherman then removes the rod from the holder, sets the hook with a slight jerk and plays the fish. Usually, five to six fishermen are assigned per boat.
Your catch can be processed and shipped home for an additional charge as arranged by the tour operator. Because of its perishable nature and U.S. Customs regulations, your catch may not be sent outside of the United States in most cases. Due to federal regulations, your catch may not be stored onboard your cruise ship, but may be prepared for dinner onboard.
Provided: Fishing gear, rain jacket, snack
Unaccompanied Minor Policy: Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
