Uncover the splendor of the Veragua Rainforest, the ultimate research and eco-adventure park. Travel approximately one hour to La Amistad National Park and climb aboard the state-of-the-art open-air aerial gondola that will take you on an enchanting ride through the primary rainforest. Admire 300-year-old trees and enjoy fantastic, uninterrupted views of the virgin rainforest in the largest national park in Central America. Upon reaching the river, disembark and enjoy a leisurely stroll through the rainforest on the "Trail of the Giants," so named for the gigantic trees that line the trails, or opt to hike to view the magnificent Puma waterfall. Visit Costa Rica's best snake, frog, and butterfly exhibitions in an unparalleled interactive setting. Finally, visit the Veragua Foundation biological research station where work is dedicated to ecology and forest preservation. Stop for a snack at the Rainforest Cafeteria and visit the gift shop before returning to port.
Special Notes:
Tour sequence may vary. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring rain gear, a hat, binoculars and a camera. Should you choose to see the waterfall, there are 350 stairs on the round-trip hike for this attraction, and you need to be able to walk on uneven terrain. The optional walk of the Trail of the Giants is a wooden, flat trail along the riverbank.Note: This tour is accessible. Guests that are confined wheelchair users should book LIO-206. Family members and friends traveling with a guest using a wheelchair should book this tour LIO-205. You will travel together. Collapsible wheelchairs can be stored on the transportation.
