Enjoy an in-depth look at the relationship between the sea and man and marine animals with a journey to the quaint little village of Cuyutlán. Located south of Manzanillo on the Pacific, sea salt has been harvested here since before the arrival of the Spaniards. Enjoy this glimpse into the rich history of salt production with a visit to the Salt Museum. Housed in a century-old salt storage barn made from hand-hewn boards from palm trees, the museum stands as a testament to the town's history. Among the displays you'll find a diorama illustrating how salt is mined, old tools, whale bones and more. Just south of Cuyutlán sits the Tortugario Ecological Center where you can help Mexico's largest turtle sanctuary save these endangered species. After your tour, relax with a drink and a snack before driving through the natural wilderness back to your ship.
