Tucked in the shadow of a medieval castle, the fishing port of Cassis offers a jewel box of sights, sounds and colors. From its picturesque harbor, filled with yachts, to the stunning Calanques cliffs, Cassis is a tourist's paradise and offers a variety of activities. After meeting your English-speaking Guide on the pier, you'll board a coach and once out of Marseilles, a scenic route leads you to a waiting shuttle train that will take you into the heart of the village. There's so much to see, where do you begin? Stroll the cobblestone streets of Rue Frédéric Mistral to the picturesque Port de Cassis; discover the town's shops, cafes, and markets; relax at a delightful café or rent a kayak or board a boat bound for the famous Calanques, the largest seaside cliffs in France for a hike along the trail above the cliffs.
Special Notes:
Bring local currency or credit cards for drinks, meals or activities. This tour is on your own however, a Guide will be on the bus to answer questions and provide directions. Please note the little train is a shuttle to reach downtown, it is not a touristic train.The tour is not recommended to wheelchair guests and those with mobility concerns are cautioned to carefully evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Guests with back, neck problems or pregnant should not consider this tour due to the train shuttle ride to/from the city center. The little train is works from May 1st to October 15th with a stop at the Gorguettes Parking. Out of this period, drop off point is at Avenue du 11 November and bus parking at Avenue des Carriers or Gorguettes.
Wear comfortable shoes and clothes. You will encounter cobblestoned streets and inclines. Not suitable for guests using wheelchairs/walkers or with walking difficulties.
