Cosquer Cave Replica, Old Town Walking Tour and Free Time

Feel history come alive as you walk through two fascinating, must-see sites. Your journey through time begins when you meet your guide at the pier and travel to city center by shuttle bus (included). Then, you'll walk to Villa Mediterranée Cultural Center and enter a replica of the Cosquer Cave. While the original cave, located in Calanque de Morgiou, and its over 500 works of Paleolithic art are slowly disappearing under the water, the replica will help you unlock the secrets of the homo sapiens who lived in the cave 30,000 years ago. Descend into a lower level, climb into exploratory vehicles and ride past recreated images with an audio guide providing background and context. Additional rooms offer a documentary and dive equipment by diver Henri Cosquer who discovered the cave in 1985. Then, head into the not-so-distant past with a guided walking tour through the oldest neighborhood of Marseille followed by free time. Return to port at leisure by shuttle bus.
