No visit to the Naples area is complete without tasting its famous buffalo mozzarella or walking among the ruins of Paestum. The day begins with a coach ride to a mozzarella dairy that exclusively uses the milk produced by their own water buffalos. Watch as traditional Campania buffalo mozzarella is made followed by a tasting. Then, you'll journey to the 2,500-year-old archeological site of Paestum. Acclaimed a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the grounds include three of the world's best-preserved ancient Greek temples, as well as an impressive museum filled with millennia-old frescoes, ceramics and daily artifacts. With your historian guide in the lead, you'll see civic buildings, the Roman forum and amphitheater, paved roadways and ruins of residential buildings. Visit the adjacent museum for a closer look at grave goods from tombs in and around Paestum including the Tomb of the Diver funerary fresco.
