Oslo, the oldest of the Scandinavian capitals, was founded by Harald Hadrade in the 11th Century and is surrounded by mountains at the head of a 70mile fjord. Oslo is an easy-going city where history meets modernity, it boasts world-class museums, a lively nightlife and plenty of outdoor activities and many locals are keen hikers, skiers or sailors. Hop off at the Royal Palace, once home to Norwegian & Swedish King Charles III and now the residence of the present Norwegian monarch. There are many museums to visit in Oslo but one that is also popular with many is the Fram & Norwegian Maritime Museum. There's so much to see and do in Oslo, you'll be spoilt for choice.
