A scenic one-hour journey takes you to the eco-adventure Jungle Crocodile Safari, home to one of the world's most prolific crocodile populations and a sanctuary for over 50 species of colorful birds. Board a motorboat, and enjoy a fun-filled cruise that takes you along the mangrove-lined Tarcoles River to the mouth of the Guacalillo Estuary. Keep your camera ready, as wildlife is abundant. Look for egrets, graceful herons, kingfishers and the rare scarlet macaw. But the big attraction of the day is surely the huge crocodiles that bask in the sun on the clay banks. If you're lucky, you'll get the quintessential shot of this powerful animal with his mouth wide open.
