The heart of Alaska craftsmanship is on display at The Salty Sitkan's Workshop. Here you'll participate in a hands-on class that introduces you to the world of metal artistry using the CNC plasma cutter. Your two-hour crafty experience begins with a safety briefing. Then, before you know it, you're wielding a two-inch die grinder to transform a raw piece of cold rolled steel into a "fin-tastic" masterpiece. You'll shape a metal salmon or halibut using a teardrop mallet, bringing the creation to life with 3D intricacies as you witness its metamorphosis into a shimmering work of Alaska art. The climax of this metalworking odyssey lies in the mastery of the propane torch, which infuses your fish with hues of bronze, purple and blue, transforming your creation into a one-of-a-kind keepsake. Return to the ship with your work of art and "tails" to tell about your day!
