Two iconic experiences await as you explore Sitka's rich heritage and experience the majesty of Alaska's bald eagles. Your adventure begins with a guided motorcoach ride to Sitka National Historical Park. Upon arriving, immerse yourself in the beauty of southeastern Alaska's temperate rainforest. Wander along the totem-lined trails and stop at the Visitors Information Center, detailing the history of the park and the significant 1804 "Battle of Alaska." Return to Sitka Sound Cruise Terminal and watch the Raptor Encounter at the Alaska Odyssey Theater, home to a state-of-the-art, 60-foot-tall, 180-degree dome screen. Breathtaking aerial views of the Alaska landscape, plus close-up footage of bald eagles in their natural habitats, are captured with cutting-edge aerial photography. Conclude with a live raptor presentation by a professional handler and learn about the Alaska Raptor Center, a rehabilitation facility for wild Alaska birds. At the end of your experience, return to the ship just steps away from the theater.
Special Notes:
The live bird for the Raptor Center presentation will be a raptor/bird of prey. This bird will often, but not always, be a bald eagle depending on availability. In the theater most of the seating is accessed by steps; however there is limited seating available at ground level.Details
