Join Jeff Corwin, Princess Cruises' Nature & Adventure Ambassador on motor-assisted Voyageur canoe paddle across the scenic waters of Chilkoot Lake in Haines. Visit the American Bald Eagle Foundation to learn about the area's prevalent majestic raptors. Jeff will share stories and his knowledge and passion for wildlife during the trip. This exclusive and unique wilderness tour provides the opportunity to visit two ports in one day. Experience the wild beauty of southeast Alaska on a full-day adventure that begins with a scenic 45-minute Fast Ferry ride from Skagway to Haines. Upon arrival, meet birds of prey during a visit to the American Bald Eagle Foundation, dedicated to the protection and preservation of the bald eagle's habitat through its educational and research activities. Enjoy an overview of North American raptors such as bald eagles, owls, hawks, and falcons. As a special treat, Jeff will don a glove to handle and discuss one of these noble creatures. Then travel past Lutak Inlet and into the Chilkoot River Valley, known for exceptional wildlife viewing. Arriving at Chilkoot Lake, receive paddling instructions and gear, then step into your motor-assisted Voyageur canoe. These stable canoes allow you to paddle when you want and relax when you don't. For the next 1 hour, you'll glide across the glassy waters weaving through inlets, salmon-rich streams and waterfalls from mountain peaks. After your time on the water, return to Haines and enjoy a picnic-style lunch on a scenic ocean beach. Return to Skagway on the ferry, leaving you with unforgettable memories of your time in Alaska's wilderness paradise.
