Experience the untouched alpine landscapes and towering peaks of the White Pass on a canoe adventure on Summit Lake in Canada's Yukon Territory. Traverse the glassine waters in a motor-assisted voyageur canoe, similar to those used during the gold rush era, on a route that takes you to breathtaking photo spots and the towering, glaciated peaks of the White Pass. Begin with a scenic one-hour drive from Skagway taking in the historic town and the magnificent scenery of Denver Glacier and the snow-capped peaks that surround verdant forests. Arrive at Summit Lake and walk to the staging area, where your 31-foot, motor-assisted voyageur canoe awaits. Launch into the icy waters and set off caravan style on a guided 1.5-hour paddle along the route travelled by gold prospectors. Glide through the rocky landscape of coves and islets and hug the rugged shoreline where wildlife abounds. Fill your camera with beautiful memories on this exhilarating day, which concludes with a light snack and a relaxed drive back to port.
