Join us on this Local historical beer-tasting tour in Stavanger. Did you know that Stavanger once was known as the teetotaler city of Norway. The city has seen a big change since 1970 when there were hardly any places with license to serve alcohol till todays more than 200 places offering alcohol. While strolling through the cobble stone streets of the Old Town the local guide will share with you stories from long gone times as well as the story about the beer and the purity law. We will have our stop at one of the local pubs, established in1985 with Stavangers 26.th license to serve alcohol. The pub has up to 550 beers on bottle and box, and 24 on tap and one real cask.It has been on the list of RateBeer "TOP 50 beer places in the world" for 13 years and selected one of "50 places to go" by New York Times 2019. The tasting will be about local history and a historical trip around local beer in the region, from mead, following the spice of the beer from herbs to hops, and the knowledge of yeast from spontaneous to cultured. Ending with the best trendy beers from the region today.
