Rainforestation National Park
A unique, eco-tourism attraction set on one hundred lush acres amid the rainforest. A variety of activities offer ways to appreciate the culture of the region and the spectacular diversity of flora and fauna. Ride an amphibious "Army Duck" through this ancient ecosystem. Feed kangaroos and see koalas, crocodiles, wombats and other Australian wildlife. Experience Aboriginal culture along the Dreamtime Walk. At the Rainforestation Amphitheatre, enjoy Pamagirri Dancers perform traditional entertainment.
Skyrail Rainforest Cableway
Voted Australia's Best Major Tourist Attraction, the multi-award winning SkyrailRainforest Cableway is a premier tourist experience. Board a six-passenger gondola and glide over the rainforest canopy, traveling through Barron Gorge, and passing Stoney Creek Falls and the spectacular 800-foot Barron Falls. Stop at two mid-stations to amble along paved walkways.
What you will see along the way:
Your tour begins as you board your motorcoach at Yorkey's Knob, one of the northern beach suburbs of Cairns. You'll cross the Barron River and ascend the rainforest slopes of the Kuranda Range while enjoying views of Cairns, the surrounding cane fields and the Coral Sea. Once on the plateau, you'll travel through the lush rainforest and pass fern gullies to Rainforestation National Park.
